Top Ten International Faux Pas
Whats common practice in one area of the world may be absolutely taboo in another. Because of the great variety of customs, cultures and traditions, its almost impossible to list specific acts that you should -- or shouldnt -- avoid.
With that in mind, here are ten types of faux pas commonly committed when dealing with people from other countries:
1. Making assumptions
Where can I get a good cup of American coffee?
Assuming things are the same as at home
Assuming you understand why things are different

2. Neglecting to develop relationships

Trying to do business before developing a relationship
Acting too informally
Coming on too fast or too strong
